Cori Maass is a self-taught artist from Los Angeles, California. She is interested in the intricacies of the human experience and the symbolism that we use to make sense of it. She portrays these reflections through her drawings, paintings, sculpture, and written work. Her design and branding background gives her the ability to think about how art interacts with daily life and strives to make work that becomes part of people’s lives and stories.
Since 2018, Cori has worked across diverse industries including (but not limited to): fashion, design, packaging, commercial and residential interiors, and beauty. She has had the opportunity to work with brands including Free People, BLDWN, LA Design Fest, AG Jeans, J. Crew, Boyish Jeans, Anine Bing, Cariuma, and Lately Kitchen in Los Angeles. Hundreds of people around the world have her work tattooed on their bodies and have come to events all over the nation to get them inked. She was first known under the pseudonym Coral Monday and initially gained popularity for her blind contour portraits and single-line drawings.
Now, Cori is working in the fine-art space and with brands to continue to create meaningful pieces. Her recent collection entitled Cigarettes Cause Heart Disease. is a dedication to the heartbreak and process of falling in love with something or someone that feels good at first, but is ultimately damaging.
